EDUCATORS

Our passionate and dedicated Educators and support staff work collaboratively and positively to ensure a well developed educational program for the children attending our service. Educators create a curriculum program that allows for long uninterrupted stretches of play, as well as facilitating opportunities of intentional teaching.

CHILDREN

At Little Beginnings we see children as competent beings, providing them with ample opportunities to make decisions about matters that affect them. We aim to promote play as the most effective tool for learning in the early years. We value every child as unique and acknowledge that this uniqueness comes with individual learning styles

Families are central to everything we do at Little Beginnings. Establishing meaningful, reciprocal relationships with families, positively impacts children and the curriculum. These positive relationships mean that families are valued and respected within our service.

Our environment is welcoming and homely, giving the children the opportunity to connect with the natural and physical environment. The environment supports children’s health and safety, encouraging children to take responsibility for their own wellbeing. We recognise the natural, created and technological environment as third teacher and connect these to create stimulating and inviting learning opportunities for children.

Our centre reflects the diverse cultures and communities of our families. We respect and embed indigenous perspectives in our daily learning and programs. We strive to deliver inclusive practises allowing all children equal opportunities to succeed.

CRITICAL REFLECTION

As professionals in early childhood, we use critical reflection to continually seek ways to build upon our knowledge. We gain insights that inform and enrich decision making about our curriculum to enhance children’s learning. We encourage feedback and regularly review our policies and procedures in response to events and experiences to improve our centre.

COMMUNITY

Our children, educators and families build and engage in relationships with the wider community. These relationships provide opportunities for incursions, excursions and mutual learning experiences within the community

SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES

As advocates for the environment, we are continually seeking ways to introduce sustainable practices within our service. We engage with children daily to promote sustainable practice, show respect for the environment and become socially aware.
