Programs
As Albert Einstein once said: "Play is the highest form of research". Our Educational program is delivered in response to children's play based learning. While planning for children's learning and development we analyse the critical understandings which children develop and the authentic understandings and connections which they make through their play. At Little Beginnings we adjust our practices to be responsive to the individual child's developmental strengths and goals.
In advocacy for learning and development in the early years, our educational documentation is shared with families through the Xplor application. Families can find more information on Xplor within their enrolment pack.
Our educational program is influenced by:
* Schematic Pedagogy
* The Early Years Learning Framework
* The 8 Aboriginal Ways of Learning, and
* National Quality Standards.
Our Rooms
We offer:
* Two babies aged rooms -Explorers (0-1yrs) and Discoverers(1-2yrs),
* Two toddler rooms - Enquirers (2-2.5yrs) and Creators (2.5-3yrs) and,
* Two preschool rooms Adventurers (3-4yrs) and Inventors (4yr- school age).
Note: These are approximate ages only. When considering a child's room placement, we work in partnership with their family to ensure the child feels safe and secure within their transition.
Our Babies Program
For the babies, our educators place great emphasis on meeting your child’s individual routine (sleep times, meal times etc.) to allow for a smooth transition between home and the centre.
Our Toddlers Program
The toddler years are a time of great cognitive, emotional and social development. We provide lots a developmental experiences for your child based on their level of skill and interests.
Our Pre-schoolers program
Transitioning to ‘big school’ is an important time in your child’s life - and yours. We focus on making this transition as smooth as possible, and giving your child important skills to help them enter school with confidence.
School readiness
We are excited to connect with local schools to support children in their transition
We primarily focus on children's socio-emotional readiness for school and support them in developing life long skills such as knowing how to introduce themselves, knowing how to communicate, any allergy or medical needs they might have, understanding how to use the school canteen, practicing making lunch orders, developing self help skills such as tying laces, borrowing books from our centre library etc.
